Behavioral Therapy

Carmen McGuinness, EdD, BCBA-D 

Dr. McGuinness is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst providing Attachment Focused Behavior Analytic treatment utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Dr. McGuinness works with children and their parents, as well as adults and couples. Areas of specialization include behaviors related to relationship difficulties, infidelity and betrayal trauma, panic disorder, generalized anxiety, non-clinical depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, separation anxiety, reactive attachment disorder, traumatic brain injury, and developmental disabilities.​​ Dr. McGuinness also works with older children, adolescents, and adults with attention, learning, and developmental disabilities, and their parents or primary care-giver.​

Dr. McGuinness holds Masters degrees in Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine, Nutrition Education, and a Doctorate in Special Education/Behavior Analysis. I'm a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and licensed HeartMath provider. I've received extensive advanced training in both Attachment Theory and practice, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Extensive advanced post-doctoral training includes: Steve Hayes 2013 ACT Boot Camp and 2016 ACT II, and Attachment-Foused Therapy, including Lisa Firestone, Confer, and International Congress on Attachment and Trauma.


Educational Therapies

​​Geoffrey McGuinness is a 20+ years veteran teacher, teaching children with a broad variety of exceptionalities in grades one through twelve in private and public schools since 1992. Geoffrey is the co-author of Reading Reflex and How to Increase Your Child's Verbal Intelligence.  Geoffrey has addressed the International Dyslexia Society, the Scottish Dyslexia Society, Core Knowledge Foundation, and has consulted for the British Education Ministry. He has trained thousands of teachers in the Phono-Graphix and Language Wise methods in the US, Canada, and Great Britain, and taught hundreds of children to read in weekly and intensive reading therapy since 1994. 

Sheryl Schmucker is a thirty-five year veteran speech and language therapist providing training in articulation and pragmatics, as well as Phono-Graphic reading therapy. Sheryl has worked in special education centers and in public schools (K-12) as a Speech-Language Pathologist for 8 years, and has spent the last 26 years as a special education teacher in a K-5 multi-age classroom for students with varying language impairments. Sheryl has been a Phono-Graphix teacher trainer since 2001. In addition to her work with students, Sheryl has trained dozens of Seminole County teachers in the Phono-Graphix reading method.

Jeannette Del Valle is a Registered Behavior Technician and licensed Speech Language Pathology Assistant. Jeannette has worked in school, clinical, and in-home settings since 2014.
